At its last plenary meeting, CIUS, the European Sugar Users Organisation, has agreed on some structural changes inside its organisation, in particular the appointment of a Vice-President and a new Secretary-General (see below).

Malcolm Philips, Manager - Strategic Procurement - Sweeteners' for Europe and Eurasia, Coca-Cola Services s.a./n.v.
Malcolm Phillips has over 23 years of experience in international sugar trading, sourcing and procurement. He joined The Coca-Cola Company in 1999 and is currently sweetener procurement manager, responsible for leading the development and execution of sweetener procurement strategies for the Coca-Cola system in Europe, Eurasia and the Middle East. Malcolm recently joined the milling and processing technical working group of the Better Sugar Cane Initiative, an organization whose primary aim is to ensure that current and new sugarcane production is produced sustainably.
Prior to The Coca-Cola Company, Malcolm worked for London based sugar trader, E D and F Man Sugar Limited from 1986 to 1999. He was responsible for refined sugar trading to the Middle East and managed the company’s Dubai representative office from 1994 to 1998.
Malcolm is based in Brussels where he lives with his family.

Muriel Korter, Economic Affairs Director, CAOBISCO
Muriel Korter is the Economic Affairs Director of CAOBISCO the European Association of Chocolate, Biscuits and Confectionery Industries based in Brussels and until recently, of CIUS, the European Sugar Users. Muriel has been responsible for economic affairs dealing with trade issues and raw materials sourcing in CAOBISCO for seven years.
After having graduated from the London School of Economics with an MSC in European Studies, she worked as a Commission stagiaire at the humanitarian aid office (ECHO). She then worked as a consultant at the Eurostat datashop. She has 9 years experience in EU public affairs, working for Hill and Knowlton as a consultant before joining CAOBISCO.
